Admin: creating a server

Create a server from the Pterodactyl administration: resources, egg choice, variables and network allocation.

Updated

Starting the creation

From the administration interface (Servers section), the create button opens a multi-step form: general information, resource allocation, egg choice, configuration variables.

General information

Enter the server name, the owner (the user who will have access as owner, not administrator), and the node it should be created on. On a single-node plan, that choice is automatic.

Allocating resources

Set the memory, disk space and CPU allocated to this specific server — these values are capped by the total resources available on the chosen node. The panel refuses creation if the sum of resources already allocated to the node's other servers exceeds what remains.

Choosing the egg

The egg defines which software runs on the server and how it's installed (see the dedicated article on adding an egg). Select the egg matching the game or application you want — the form then shows the variables specific to that egg (version, game port, startup options).

Variables and network allocation

Each egg exposes its own configuration variables (software version, difficulty, game mode depending on the case). Also assign a network allocation (IP + port) from those available on the node — that's what will let players connect to the server once installed.

Following the installation

After validation, the server moves to "installing" status: Wings downloads the software image and runs the installation script defined by the egg. The server console (visible on the admin side too) shows that installation live.
