Frequently asked questions
Is the Pterodactyl panel already installed?
Yes, the panel and the Wings daemon are preinstalled and configured. You get an administrator account and can create your first game servers right away, with no manual install.
How many game servers can I create?
As many as your resources allow: we don’t count instances. The real limit is your VPS memory and vCores, which you allocate between servers however you like.
Can I add custom eggs?
Yes. You’re the panel administrator: import any JSON egg, edit it, or build your own for a game or application that isn’t covered out of the box.
Do I need one IP per game server?
No, a single IPv4 is enough: servers are told apart by port. A dedicated IP per server is still useful for games that don’t accept a custom port — it’s €1.70 per month.
Who handles panel updates?
You do, since you administer it. Follow the releases published by Pterodactyl and apply security fixes: a panel exposed on the internet and left behind is an open door.
